Cottonwood Art Festival (October 6-7 in Richardson, TX)

There is a great cultural enrichment activity going on October 6th and 7th in Richardson, TX called the Cottonwood Art Festival.  This event happens twice a year, featuring works from the nation’s top visual artists. Now in its 43rd year, this prestigious show is rated the 5th best art festival in the United States, and is the premier fine arts event in North Texas.

I can’t wait to take my family!  Not only is it a non-smoking event (thank you City Ordinance 3710!), but there are going to be displays, vendors, music, and activities for people of all ages.  The kids’ area looks to be pretty impressive with attractions such as origami art, pottery, magnetic art, and more.

There will be food, vendors (start thinking about holiday shopping!), live bands, and TONS and TONS of art for viewing and for purchase!

Cottonwood Art Festival is a juried show. This year approximately 1,000 artists will submit their work for
consideration. Jurors will select over 240 artists to exhibit their museum-quality work at the festival. The artists compete in 14 categories: 2D Mixed Media, 3D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Digital, Drawings/Pastels, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metalwork, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Wood. All works are museum-quality.

About Jenn

Jenn is a devoted wife to her hubby Ross, and a homeschooling mom to 4 children. She lives in Fort Worth, Texas. In her free time (haha!), she enjoys making new friends through blogging and mom groups. Her right eye is half blue, and half brown, which confuses a lot of people when they make eye contact and notice it for the first time. Her favorite color is green, and she excels in using awesome voices for all of the characters when reading books to her kids.
