I’m not sure that you’re all aware, but I am in the process of *moving*. Yes, again! 🙂 You see, when we moved last time, we knew it would be a temporary arrangement since we were moving from a smaller town to a large metroplex (Dallas/Fort Worth). My husband and I actually moved our family before he even had a job out here. We didn’t know where we would end up. We had faith he would get a job, though…. and he did! Just days after we moved our UHaul full of stuff, hubs got a job offer.
Once we knew where the job was, we quickly scrambled to find a place to live that was a reasonable commute. We have absolutely loved living in the city we chose. The commute was reasonable, and I’ve adored being surrounded by busy, bustling suburban cities. I’ve made a ton of terrific friends through Girl Scouts with my daughter, a Meetup group I started for area homeschoolers, and a Dallas area mom night out group I took over last year. It’s been everything I had hoped for and more. Truly!
Since then, my hubby has changed jobs to a much better fit for him. He’s happier than I’ve seen him in a while. He’s been hanging out with his friends from high school more and more. We decided to start looking for a place to call our own. We wanted to find a way to build a home just perfect for our now larger family. It was decided!
SOOOOOOO now we are moving. We should close on our BRAND NEW home at the end of the month. I can’t wait. I feel SO blessed and excited at the opportunity. The location is not my ideal spot, I’ll admit. However, it’ll be close to my husband’s friends, a similar commute to what he has now, and the area is developing more and more. Right now, it’s actually close to a farm. We also saw a bunch of steer directly in the field behind the new house last time we were there. This now-city girl is having a hard time adjusting to the thought of all of this. I am no country girl. Yes, I’m a Texan through and through, but I have no desire to be a country girl at all!!! I love shopping, going to city-built parks, being close to everything, and living in the hustle and bustle of a city. Luckily, we’re still within a city, and it’s definitely in development, like I mentioned. I think I’ve connected with a homeschool group, and I have a few ideas of churches to try once we get settled.
Anyway, if you see that my presence is scarce around here, you will know why! I have been busy packing all sorts of things. So far, I have gotten a ton of children’s books packed, the kids’ extra clothes packed, and most of mine and the baby’s extra clothes packed. Tonight, I’m hoping to get to the dishes and various things cluttering up our dining room. I’m on a roll so far and want to keep that momentum going. I’m usually a huge procrastinator, so the less I have to put off, the better!
I’ve also scheduled the U-Haul, a lady to come clean the place after we get all of our stuff out, and a carpet clean the day after that, which is when we’ll turn in the key. I am ready. I am ready. I.am.ready. Maybe I’ll start believing it soon. 🙂
