If the weather is weird, no worries! This is a rain or shine event. It’s held at Cottonwood Park, which is located at 1321 W. Belt Line Road, one block east of Coit Road, Richardson, TX. There’s lots of parking available all around the area. If you are looking for things to do in Dallas (or close), then check it out!! Did I mention that it is FREE?
My family and I headed out to the festival last year, and it was worth bundling up in jackets to attend. It’s a great family event with food vendors, tons of art, live musicians, and an amazing children’s area called Art Stop. There are several free activities and they sell tickets for other fun artsy activities as well. There were tons of options, and my kids begged to do more!
My favorite part of this festival is that there’s all type of art for sale and on display. There was moving art, ceramic art, painted shoes and shirts, sculptures, metal-based art, paintings, photography, and so much more. We saw several pieces where my kids asked me what it was made of or how they made it, and I had no idea!! actually used this to teach my kids about all different types of art with different mediums. They were amazed with the creative pieces. Perhaps the coolest part is that the actual artists were right there, and most of them were super eager to answer questions, talk to you about their work, and they even offered some advice to my aspiring artists. It was so cool, and such a unique experience. There are 250 artists at this festival, showcasing their best pieces. Incredible!
