I know I’m not the only one that scrambles at the last minute to prepare a fun July 4th spread of tasty and fun foods! When I think of holiday foods, I think quick and easy. Otherwise, I won’t want to bother preparing them in this Texas heat. If you’re one to grab a bunch of ingredients and then scramble to find recipes that you can use with it, check these out!
*Denotes a paleo option, so don’t worry, there are healthy choices for everybody.
I’d love to check out any of your favorite recipes, too, so link me to them in the comments!!
Great Beginnings
Let’s get your party started with some quick and easy appetizers, snacks, and drinks.
To cool off, make some homemade healthy popsicles, compliments of Mainly Homemade. This is a kid-pleaser and can be customized to your tastes.
What about a fruit and cheese platter and some daiquiris? This is a great way to use up ingredients that you probably already have if you’re stuck scrambling for a tasty snack or appetizer for yourself or guests. It also makes a pretty addition to take to a potluck!
July 4th Means Grilling
Who loves to grill on the 4th of July? If so, you’re in luck! Not only are most grilled meats and veggies (and fruits!) paleo, but you can mix it up by making your own kabobs, too. Do you still need a little inspiration?
Here are some great grill tips and an amazing recipe for bacon wrapped shrimp! (*Paleo if you use a paleo BBQ sauce.)
This is an easy way to prepare *grilled broccoli, which pairs beautifully with *grilled chipotle orange chicken. Maybe grilled *green chili burgers are more of your thing?
Finishing Touches: Dessert!
Dessert is sort of highlight, isn’t it? That’s why this section will be the longest. 🙂
After I think of the hunk of meat I’m going to eat, my mind wanders to thoughts of sweets galore. Some delicious treats are out there for paleo friends and folks with a standard American diet, too. 🙂
*Magic Brownie Bars look absolutely DIVINE. I really need to make these sometime soon! Ooey, gooey, scrumptious. These would be perfect for making and taking, so if you’ve been invited to a party – this just might work out well for you. They’ll be sure to dazzle.
Star Spangled Star Cookies are another dessert that would totally impress everyone – plus, they’re easier to make than you might think. With just a few ingredients, you can wow everybody at the party!
A few other great recipes I’ve found that are PALEO (and can be enjoyed by everyone) include:
- *Lemon Fruit Tart
- *Fudgesicles
- *Strawberry Creamsicles
- *Double Chocolate “Peanut Butter” Ice Cream Sandwiches
- *4th of July Fruit “Cake”
- *Chocolate “Peanut Butter” Ice Cream with Chocolate Shell
I can’t wait to celebrate the 4th with some yummy food and lots of family time. I hope you all have a great Independence Day as well.
