Dallas is chock full of the best food, fun, and entertainment. It can be overwhelming trying to plan a date night or a night out with the girls or guys. In fact, planning a holiday gathering with a group is difficult because you have to think about the meal, the entertainment, if there’s enough parking, and so on. Then you worry if the guests will even have any FUN!
Tucked away in Addison, Texas is a venue that has it all. You have your food, your drinks, the night life, and – LAUGHS. Lots and lots (and lots) of LAUGHS. Addison Imrov.
When I was invited to experience a night of comedy at this location of the world famous Improv, I jumped at the chance. It’s as though the stars aligned just right because my mom was in town to watch the kids. The hubs and I hadn’t been able to go on a date night in AGES.
Headlining this show was Tony Rock (@TonyRock). The show also featured Sydney Castillo (@SydneyIsFunny) and Joseph Fox (@JoeFreezie). I would have taken pictures of the guys, but one of the rules at Addison Imrov is no photography during the show – out of respect for the performers and the audience! I have to admit, I did enjoy being able to watch the show without seeing any screens glued to the stage. It’s so much easier to see and relax without electronics in the way!
I didn’t realize that they would have drinks and dinner available before and during the show, so you know I was psyched when that menu was brought to our table! There were so many delicious things to choose from. Hubs and I shared an appetizer platter, a main meal, and a dessert. Everything was tasty. (You know I wouldn’t mention food unless I meant it!)
Once the show got started, the hubs and I just cracked up non-stop. We love to watch comedians, and these guys were hilarious! While this show was fairly racy and I wouldn’t recommend it for, say, my grandma – I do know that Addison Imrov does host family friendly magic shows and more tame comedians. You just have to check their calendar for all the details!
We signed up for the E-club. Our waitress said that they usually email folks to let everyone know about upcoming events and specials. She also said that they sometimes have special EXCLUSIVE events for e-club members only. We totally want to be on that list, so I filled out the card while we were there.
I am so thrilled that we went! There’s another one fairly local to us in Arlington that I hope to check out soon, too.
Find out where your local Improv Comedy Club is located and enjoy some hefty belly laughs and yummy food and drinks. I definitely want to plan a girl’s night out because it was wonderful to just let that mommy guard down and let loose.

*Thank you to Addison Improv for hosting me and the hubs for a MUCH needed date night!!
