A couple of weeks ago, I was invited by Betsy of The Dallas Socials to attend a fun girl’s night out with some other local bloggers. We went to Pinot’s Palette Lakewood, which is in Dallas. Their hashtag they told us to use is #paintdrinkfun and that is exactly what went on at this get together! Obviously I did not partake in any drinking (I don’t drink anyway, but I am pregnant, so I really didn’t), but the painting was a lot of fun!
It was a little tricky to find the location at first, because it is located in a busy shopping center. Once I found it though, I had no trouble finding a parking spot and running inside since I was a few minutes late!
Our instructor told us a little bit about the studio and what to expect with our painting that night. We were going to be painting the whimsical Dallas skyline you see above her shoulder there. I can totally do whimsical, so I was ready to get started!
Okay, so I can’t paint straight or uniform lines…
Already, everyone’s paintings were starting to take on their own personalities and look different from each other. I love how we can all receive the same instruction and come up with something totally different.
This thing looks like it is starting to shape up now.
That’s my final product! It didn’t turn out so badly, did it? My husband even said I could hang it up in his home office. That is progress considering he’s always tried to make me hide my projects before! (I won’t tell you how many are hidden in closets. Sad trombone!)
Check Out Pinot’s Palette!
There are several locations of Pinot’s Palette. The one we visited was in Dallas at the Lakewood location. They are very active on social media, so you can always hear about their latest projects and specials by going to the Pinot’s Palette – Lakewood Facebook page and the @PinotLKWD Twitter page.
