Science is a subject that I find difficult to teach my kids, because I have a hard time getting them engaged. I was excited to have the opportunity to review Supercharged Science with my pre-k, 1st grade, and 3rd grade students using their K-12 Level Membership.
The e-Science Learning Program is an online homeschool curriculum, but the written text materials for each unit can also be downloaded so you can do it on the go. To quickly learn more about the program, grab your Free Copy of the Science Activity Video Series and Guidebook.
Crammed Full of Awesome Information
Supercharged Science is an amazing, fully loaded homeschool curriculum for all grade levels of science. As a new member, it can be quite overwhelming at first, but they offer many helpful suggestions on how to get started.
If you already have a science program, there are conversion charts available to show you how to use Supercharged Science as a very thorough supplement.
What is the Cost?
The Supercharged Science homeschool science program is priced at $37 per month for the K-8 Level Plan or $57 per month for the K-12 Level Plan. With either option, I do believe that an average preschooler or pre-k student could follow along with older siblings. Kindergarten through High School seniors will be able to use the material, and even parents will learn from all of the hands on experiments, science text, exercises (questions), videos, and so much more. The best part? No matter how many people are using it, you only pay one monthly fee!
How Did We Use It?
We chose to pick our unit of study based on what we’d already been working on in science. We used this as our full curriculum and put our other one on hold for now.
Alternatively, if you want to use the Supercharged Science grade level guide, you can do that to create a full and complete year’s worth of science instruction grouped by grade level.
Keep in mind that you do NOT have to go at this pace or by these levels. Picking and choosing is totally fine! The point is – JUST DO IT! Just get started and have fun with it!
I downloaded the unit we were working on to my phone so I could read out the information from the textbook portion while we were in waiting areas before appointments and while we were hanging out while waiting for my preschool son while he was at speech therapy. I was also able to quiz the kids on their retention of the information by doing the exercises with them, which are comprehensive review questions for the lessons.
The videos and experiments we chose to watch and do were done at home. While many of the experiments required kind of odd materials, it wasn’t a surprise because I checked out the supply list ahead of time. It was also easy to browse through and see which experiments I had materials for already and which ones I wanted to pick up a few things for. For example, when we did one experiment, I had to pick up a package of straws, but we had everything else. Most materials are things you’ll already have. The things you will want to pick up are generally easy to find and inexpensive.
We absolutely loved the videos throughout the lessons for the unit, because they provided so much information. Not only did they help the kids set up their experiment so that they were bound to be successful, but Aurora Lipper, the mastermind behind this entire program, is a real scientist! Not only that, but she has an incredible way of connecting with kids and meeting them where they’re at, right at their own level of learning.
This Program Works for Everyone
Older kids will be able to basically do this entire thing themselves, but younger kids will get to experience success and participate in real science with just a little bit of guidance. It’s a great experience for all, and it teaches to all learning styles. Auditory and visual learners will get a lot from the videos, because they’ll be able to hear and see what’s being taught. Kinesthetic learners will thrive through participating in hands-on experiments and projects. Digital learners that need to actually read the information to absorb it will be able to do that either on the website or saved on a mobile phone or other device that can read a PDF. You could even print out the guide if you wanted so they could hold it and touch it, too!

My family enjoyed checking out the Supercharged Science Youtube Channel. It’s different from the content available on the website, and my kids loved it! Check out the Supercharged Science Facebook page for all sorts of fun science tidbits and updates. Also, the Supercharged Science Pinterest has some awesome boards to check out to further your child’s learning journey. I spent a lot of time on there!
A Final Note
I can say that Supercharged Science has certainly made science more accessible to me and to my children, and it has made the whole process a lot easier. It makes teaching simple, and it makes participating in actual, real-life science totally doable. I’ve enjoyed being able to use the resources to fit in with my kids’ interests and prior studies, and now the information is much more concrete to them.
The units are thorough and adaptable to all ages and levels of learning. There are grade level guides for those that don’t want to just pick and choose. There is a lot of support available for parents and students. So many experiments are easy to do with household materials, and the rest are easy with just a little bit of planning. The videos bring it all together.
My kids have found a joy in science that I couldn’t have done without the help of this program! Thank you Aurora Lipper, and thank you Supercharged Science! This homeschool science curriculum is totally worth the cost, and far cooler and more interesting than I thought it would be.
