I love to host friends and family for events throughout the year. My husband follows football with his friends, and we’ve been to several parties to watch the Big Game. Food is always the star of these events for me, for sure!
We all want a simple Big Game solution, and I always run to Tom Thumb for all of my Big Game snack needs. They have all of the ingredients for winning recipes, like the Snickers that I needed for my dip.
They also have a delicious assortment of fresh produce at Tom Thumb. Look at all of these apples I had to choose from to compliment my sweet dip!
As a rule, I love the salty, crunchy combination of Tostitos Scoops and Tostitos Chunky Salsa as a go-to snack. It’s great for parties and is a real crowd-pleaser.
This year, I wanted to try a sweet, crunchy dip to compliment it. It looks like I’ve found a hit with this Snickers Blitz Dip. It combines wholesome ingredients with the surprise treat of a Snickers bar chopped right into it!
Snickers Blitz Dip
This recipe was provided to me to recreate. It is a delicious and simple treat to make for the Big Game!
Recipe Source: Mars®
Ingredients:
1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
1/2 cup chopped Snickers® bar
Optional:
apple slices for dipping
To Make:
- Using a spoon, stir and combine the yogurt and peanut butter together in a bowl.
- Fold in the Snickers® bar pieces and combine well into the mixture. Extra Snickers® can be chopped and placed on top as garnish, if desired.
Serve with apple slices.
This dip can be enjoyed right away, or it can be refrigerated prior to the Big Game to give the flavors time to mingle together. Since there is yogurt in the dip, it does need to stay refrigerated if it will not be consumed promptly.
It’s best to choose something fairly crunchy to go with your Snickers Blitz Dip to match the crunch of the Tostitos chips and salsa. This pair of dips works well if you’re hosting a party yourself or if you’re planning on taking it over to a friend’s house as they travel well. Just grab your covered bowl of Snickers Blitz Dip, a few apples, a bag of Tostitos Scoops, and a jar of Tostitos Chunky Salsa, and you’re ready to go.
It is delicious served with apple slices. Other ideas for dippers include graham cracker sticks, animal crackers, or pear slices. For best results, be sure to wait to slice your fruit until right before your guests arrive. Wait until you get to your party location to do it if someone else is hosting your Big Game celebration. To prevent browning, toss the slices in a little citrus juice or even a citrus soda.
