Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to share the love of reading with kids. Check out these 25+ Valentine’s Day books kids LOVE to read, and get ready for the hugs and snuggles that just might follow!
I’ve started a new tradition over the past few holidays of getting books from the library and pulling books from my personal library of books that go along with upcoming or current seasons, holidays, or other important events. I leave them somewhere tempting so that my kids stumble upon them and get curious enough to crack the book open to read.
For Christmas, I actually put all of the Christmas and winter related books under our Christmas tree. I made sure there was a variety so that everyone could enjoy them. We had joke books, board books, short picture books, activity books, and short chapter books as well. At some point in time, everyone wandered over to check out a book or two. I even caught my 7 year old snuggled up in a chair with his 4 year old and 2 year old brothers, reading story after story to them. It was so sweet!
You can start a fun tradition like that in your house, too. If not, you can at least grab a book or two to either give your child as a little gift (with or without a box of chocolates!) or to read together sometime around Valentine’s Day.
