Finding an inexpensive (or free) homeschool curriculum can be quite the task. For folks seeking a secular version, the challenge is even more daunting.
I decided to pull together 2 of my favorite books that I purchased long ago and create a reading schedule to teach history, science, music, and art to my kids for our homeschool and offer them as free lesson plans for other homeschoolers!
My older 2 kids are in 1st grade and in 3rd grade. However, for the sake of time, I want to combine them in as many subjects as possible. That’s why we’ll be doing these subjects together as a family.

The books I am using as the core for my curriculum and lesson plans are books that can be found very inexpensively, or even at the library. They are:

Please note that I am using the REVISED editions of both of these, not the original publication editions. These plans will NOT work with the original published editions of these books as they did completely revamp the material.
From what I can gather online, the newly printed editions of these contain exactly the same information and page numbers inside with a brand new cover, which is different than my copies as pictured above.
